Care and protection
Temporary care and everyday attention: a place to live, food, hygiene and care for each child's and teenager's needs.
Care home · Perus, São Paulo · for more than 20 years
Protection, love and care so children and teenagers have their rights respected and can live their childhood with dignity.
Children and teenagers who need to be away from their families for a while come here. They find protection, routine, school, health care and people who care.
PROHACC has no agreement (convênio) with the government. This care goes on thanks to people who donate.

Who we are
PROHACC, Proteção Habitacional à Criança Carente, is a nonprofit association that provides residential care for children and teenagers in Perus, in the northwest of São Paulo.
Residential care is a protective measure under Brazil's Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA). When staying with their family stops being safe for a while, the court refers the child to a home like ours. Here they have a place to live, food, school, health care and support from a team with a social worker, a psychologist and caregivers, while the protection network works so they can go back home or find a new family.
What we do
Daily work, made of attention, responsibility and commitment.
Temporary care and everyday attention: a place to live, food, hygiene and care for each child's and teenager's needs.
We follow their health and school routines, with psychological, social and educational support, respecting each one's story.
Parties, outings, games and special dates. Making good memories is also part of growing up with dignity.
We take children in by court order and are part of the local child protection network, with CREAS Perus and the other care services.
What we believe in
"We believe in love and solidarity!" That is how PROHACC introduces itself to anyone who visits its Instagram.
We take in children and teenagers under protective measures, by court order, because their rights were violated (abandonment, neglect, violence) or because their family could not care for and protect them.
With no government agreement, the home exists thanks to those who help. That is why the phrase that goes with PROHACC's posts is #juntossomosmaisfortes (together we are stronger).
Real moments
More than 690 posts since 2020 show campaigns, parties, donations and daily life at the home. On this site, no child can be identified: protecting them is also caring for them.

Our journey
The home made it through the pandemic without stopping, held an arraiá indoors, got a fridge from friends, took some of the kids to a charity soccer match, celebrated a baby's hospital discharge and took in four children on the same night.
On October 3, 1997, the Associação Proteção Habitacional das Crianças Carentes is registered in Perus.
During the pandemic, the home did not stop: the children stayed in quarantine, cared for by volunteers. The June festival bag (Sacola Junina) is born.
The home gets a fridge, takes part in the Bazar do Bem at Esporte Clube Pinheiros, and some of the kids go to a charity soccer match.
The home runs a special campaign to take its 18 children and teenagers to the movies.
How to help
Since the home receives no government funds, every contribution pays for what keeps daily life going: food on the table, milk and diapers for the babies, bills paid and caregivers present.
In 2026, the home estimated R$ 100 per child for a day at the movies, with ticket, popcorn and soda.
